Q: What is a Royalty Free Buyout License?
Q: Do I get a License agreement document with my purchase?
A: When you commit to buying a composition an account for your activity (client log-in) needs to be created where a license agreement can be downloaded for each purchase. A password will be provided to view the history of all your activity.

Q: Are there extra duties as a Licensee I need to know about?
A: Yes.
i) If the project you are working on is deemed to be broadcast, then a cue sheet for the project must be submitted to the broadcaster with the proper credits from the License Agreement (title, writer, time, publisher, performing rights society) so that the writer gets paid a small amount by the broadcaster, through their performing rights society, for each time the project is aired. The preferred cue sheet can be downloaded from
www.socan.ca
(SOCAN,Canadian Performing Rights Society) where the broadcast royalties from around the world get distributed to the writers.
i) If the composition is to be in a manufactured product (ie. CDROM, Video for sale or promotion) it covers the license for the first 10,000 copies.
Q: What are the benefits of buying the Library disks?
A: The same privileges and buyout license as the single song download agreement for a fraction of the price (the price of 4 downloads). Many Producers, Music Supervisors and Editors still prefer having discs when their email and editing gear are in different rooms, multiple users in a larger company or researching when in transit (car/train etc). We currently do not supply the Library Disks online, please contact us directly for further information.
Q: I’m a Canadian composer. How do I join the Martinworks Library?
A: Contact me through the website , stating your interest in joining. I will then ask you to send a disc or DAT of no more than ten songs at a time (from 30 seconds to 5 minutes in length) and the paperwork involved. I will be paying attention to broadcast quality, originality and category possibilities. I would prefer that you submit compositions that you are not "shopping yourself".
Q: I’m a manager of an artist who would like to re-record a song from the Vocal Library. How do I acquire the rights to re-record the song?
